Dougs surgery results....
At 2005-06-23 on 10:32 p.m.
Our son Doug had his surgery this morning and it went pretty good-they had to cut him deeper and longer then what they expected-he had what was called an Osteochondritis Dissecans which is usally a non cancerous tumor and his just happened to be extra large-they will do a biopsy on it and we will know for sure about the cancer part,he has like a soft cast on his leg from his hip down to his ankle and tons of stitches and staples(his dr. just called to see how he was doing and i asked him how many stitches he got cause doug wanted to know and he just said A LOT~he also has a drain pump in his leg draining out all the blood and stuff-i know gross-they couldnt put a pain pump in cause of the drain pump and we meaning his dad ;)has to remove it saturday!! He cant get it wet for 2 weeks and cant take the bandages off for that long either so sponge bathes for him!!! He's been in laaa laaa land all day and has gotten sick just once on the way home~i cant handle throw up at all~blood yes but throw up no!!! :(~~~~
Of coarse his lil girl friends(cheerleaders)have been coming over to see him tonight and bringing him snacks and smoothies etc...lol and his older brother is watching over him and keeping him company :*)

just let me know your user name from diaryland or whatnot-his friend diana had the same sugery a couple of years ago and she said hers was the size of a quarter but dougs looked like a chicken leg or turkey leg!!!!
well im sooooo tired-i didnt sleep at all last night and was worrying all day and got 2 hours of sleep this afternoon so hopefully i'll sleep good tonight-hubby has already crashed!! :)
