BACK FROM MISS./LA
At 2007-01-16 on 9:56 p.m.

We're back from our weekend trip and I must say we had a really good time and got in there and out before the cold weather hit...We left early Saturday morning and picked up my mom and headed to Gulfport Miss.-like always I conked out around Tallahasse and slept thru Pensacola-that is the most longest drive thru there and then when you hit Alabmama the ride isnt bad...

Poor Biloxi and Gulfport still looks so sad with all the Katrina damage and huge homes just wiped away but its trying hard to rebuild-its just going to take time and im sure its going to be even better minus the old beautiful southern homes...We checked into our hotel that we use to stay in-its now open under a new name I think its called Island View Gulfport and they have done a really good job getting it back together-the rooms are really nice and comfy-they still have lots to do and should be done by summer-it use to be called Grand Gulfport Casino and it had a great lazy river pool area and the best buffet ever...the casino now is right in the hotel lobby as soon as you walk in as before it use to be on the water on a floating barge...Yes we did gamble and won and then lost everything we won but oh well thats part of the fun and we didnt go crazy and the rooms are so affordable it evened itself out plus we got free breakfast etc...the worse part about casinos is all the smoke-the best part-well one of them-is the free COCKTAILS :)~* my mom was even getting into her lil bourbon and cokes...That first day and night seemed like it lasted forever since there was a time change and we did watch some of the Saints game-yeahhh go SAINTS!!!

Sunday we headed to New Orleans and we had a blast-that place is still so deserted in the neighborhoods-just so sad-but the French Quarter is busy busy busy-not to mention their Saints won the night before we walked the market area and bought the boys some beads and some gator meat slim jims-yummm huh?! We ate lunch at BUBBA GUMPS and that was really cool seeing all the Forrest Gump movie stuff...

mama said these was my special legs and they would take me places :)

my new friend :)

hubbys new friend :)

Everytime i've been to New Orleans I havent had my low country boil with crawfish and some real good gumbo-i guess I have to go back gain and find some...At Bubba Gumps there was a Saints player there-he was is the kicker or punter and people were coming up to his table getting him to sign stuff and he seemed real nice to them..we didnt ask though-i dont like to bother famous people when they are with family especially while they are eating...we looked him up when we got home and he's my age 42-he's a oldy for being a NFL player-the boys said cause he's a kicker-poor kickers dont get any respect...

Well I taped American Idol so I need to go watch and get some laughs and iron hubbys work clothes-back to reality life-just did the grocery shopping tonight and housework is calling my name too...grrrr
