BACK FROM THE MOUNTAINS

We're back from the Smokey Mountains and we had a GREAT time and many many laughs and best of all we saw snow-REAL snow and we even went sking-OKKKKK-to all you true skiers out there-I have a new found respect for you-that is the hardest thing we have ever tried to do and still dont know how its done without walking away all bruised up and almost peeing myself from laughing so hard-I cant tell ya how many times I fell and my legs were wrapped around one another in ways I didnt think was possiable-Doug looked like pigpen from Charlie Brown cause he crashed and burned in a mud pile and he left the pretty white snow all muddy-we all finally got enough nerve to get off the practice slope and head over to the "real slopes" but we didnt ride the lifts up cause that really would of meant death so like others we walked a lil bit up the slope and tried it-hubby did a 360* and crashed and then I tried and went face first into the big orange crash net :) lmao but a nice lady asked if I was ok-then Dougs friend Justin went and he did great but couldnt stop himself and ended up going into the slopes where peeps actually know what their doing and are doing it very fast-lmao-Bailey didnt try to do the real slopes but she did good on the learner slope and my mom didnt try at all....

We didnt think we were going to be able to go sking at all cause the day before, Gatlinburg had up to 4 inches of snow and they shut the roads down unless you had chains or 4x4's which we dont....so we went to Cades Cove instead and had a great time there as always and just saw a few deer and some horses and the kids went rolling down a large hill and it was very funny...

Our cabin we rented was great and beautiful-didnt have the best view but it was great to us-I want one ;) the hottub was awesome besides when Justin got into it and caused half the water to gush out-the guy is 6'5" and weighs over 250lbs-the next morning I had to stand out in the freezing cold with a pot trying to re-add water to it cause they didnt have a hose at the cabin to use....It had a nice huge jacuzzi tub too and a pool table :)

Yesterday on the way to Georgia we really hit the beautiful snowfall in the mountains-they opened the roads thank goodness but there was still a lot of snow on the ground and everybody was stopping and building snowmen and putting them on their cars/vans-we did the same and had snow fights which Doug hit me so hard with one I have a bruise on my thigh and Bailey made her first ever snow angel :*)

So now we're home and have tons of laundry to do and unpacking-grrrrr-and our friends Keri and Dusty had their baby girl while we were gone-lil Peyton-thier first born and her brother-Dougs bestfriend Andrew just got back into town from SLC yesterday with his new girlfriend(their both in the Airforce)and yesterday Keri and Andrews mom's sister died from a heart attack in Calif. so you go from having your first grandchild being born to having your sister die within a day-this has been so true to us-everytime somebody we know including ourselves-has a child, somebody we know has passed away-weird.....

Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe NEW YEAR!!!! Luv to all<3
