surgery update

my mom had he surgery today-she did well-like most surgerys they were running behind and it was freezing in there which did a number on my joints...hubby got off of work early and came and sat up there with me-then the dr. came out and showed us pics of my moms knee and he said it was much worst then what they thought and that a knee replacement is in her future-duh we knew this and couldnt understand why they just didnt go ahead and do it instead of scoping it-now they know how bad it is-there is no cartlidge left and lots of bone on bone and spurs-he doesnt know how she has been getting around-we'll she has told them over and over how bad it hurts and had mri's etc...but they will have to see how she does after her knee heals from this and see how much longer she can go before she has a replacement...
my friend in Cali.had to go back into surgery-she had a source of bleeding that they had to find and they did but she is still knocked out and her stepmom said she wasnt going to sugarcoat it-she looks horriable-very pale and her eyes very black and purple and sunken in but once they did the second surgery she was looking better...she had a trial surgery-she had esophogus? cancer BAD and without this surgery she didnt have long to live-they removed her esophogus? and replaced it with part of her small intestines-the drs. said it looked better once they got in there and are sure they got 95% of the cancer out it looked like it didnt spread... so let the healing begin and pray it works...
we are leaving to go away for a few days in the morning so i wish everyone a safe New Years Eve and a better Happier/safe New Year and look forward to reading about everybodys day to day lives and bonding :)
and yes Yvonne our men do drive us nuts or something ;)
